Finance Assistant

Salary up to £40,000 per annum

This is a local role reporting to the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager.

What will you be doing?

Role

As a member of the Finance Team, you will play an important role in supporting financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and month-end activity, helping to ensure accurate, timely and insightful financial information is available to support decision-making across the business. The team is made up as follows:

  • Financial Planning & Analysis
  • Financial Control
  • Commercial Finance
  • International Finance (USA, Singapore, Italy and China)

You Will

  • Produce financial reports used across the business, identifying trends, anomalies and opportunities within the data
  • Support annual budgets and regular forecasts, working with managers across the business to gather, test and improve assumptions
  • Support the month-end close process and prepare business performance reports and analysis
  • Test and improve reports, systems and financial models, helping finance become more efficient through smarter processes and better use of technology, e.g. AI
  • Provide support across different finance functions when required, gaining exposure to multiple areas of a modern finance team
  • Collaborate with international finance teams across the USA, Singapore, Italy and China

Your Skills & Experience

  • Studying towards an accounting qualification (AAT, ACCA, CIMA or ACA)
  • Naturally curious, keen to learn and comfortable working with numbers and analysing data
  • A problem-solver who enjoys finding better ways of doing things
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities
  • A strong communicator who can work with people from different functions and at all levels of the business
  • Previous experience in a finance or analytical role is beneficial but not essential if you can demonstrate the right mindset and enthusiasm to develop

Location & Remuneration

The company head office is based just south of Oxford in Didcot. This is a hybrid role, combining office-based work in Didcot with home working.
