The Role
The Finance Assistant role is an exciting opportunity to join our Accounts team, where you will develop essential accounting, analytical, and problem-solving skills in a friendly, fast-paced team environment.
You will:
- Work proactively in a dynamic setting, communicating effectively across the organisation.
- Improve efficiency and implement change within the organisation.
The ideal candidate should be highly numerate, exhibit strong time-management skills, and be proficient at prioritising tasks to manage workloads effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer the company’s expenses and corporate credit card system (Navision), ensuring compliant, timely submission, and approval of expense claims based on company travel and expenses policies.
- Assist in developing and delivering a training pack for expense users.
- Gain fluency in Purchase Ledger functionality within Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
- Analyse, code, and ensure accurate purchase invoices with appropriate sign-off, resolving queries and approving requests promptly.
- Process purchase invoices and journals across multiple currencies with meticulous attention to detail.
- Enhance automatic invoice recognition within our Document Capture software.
- Raise and issue recharge invoices to our wine producers.
- Assist with month-end adjustments and analysis.
- Contribute to ad-hoc projects, such as system maintenance and process improvement.
- Provide nominal postings and support the Finance Team as needed.
- Offer Finance support to other departments when required.

About You
To excel in this role, you should have:
- An AAT Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) + 2 years’ relevant finance experience.
- A-Level grades A-C, ideally in Maths or Accountancy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, along with strong organisational skills.
- Advanced computer proficiency, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Experience with corporate expenses/card systems.
- Teamwork orientation and a passion for supporting organisational goals.
- The ability to evaluate, prioritise, and manage a balanced workload.
- A pro-active, problem-solving attitude with a desire to develop accounting and system expertise.
- Drive to thrive in a fun, dynamic team environment.

- Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum, dependent on experience.

Working Pattern
- 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9am–5:30pm).
- Flexible attendance required based on business needs.
- Hybrid arrangement: Must be in the office at least 3 days per week.
