ROLE OVERVIEW
The role of Finance Assistant plays a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of Leading Edge Aviation’s Finance Team. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Finance Assistant provides front line administrative finance support, with a particular focus on Accounts Receivable, credit control, and wider operational financial tasks.
We are looking for a skilled Finance Administrator to join our team, bringing with you an understanding of key financial procedures, strong attention to detail as well as an energy and enthusiasm to contribute to the continued development of the department, and the systems and processes we use. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their experience in an established Finance Department, whilst also contributing your ideas and initiatives to enhance the work of the team.
This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, based at our Oxford Campus. Some home working may be possible.
Role Duties
- Raising customer invoices on a monthly basis in an accurate and timely manner
- Creating new customer accounts with associated supporting records
- Ensuring student accounts are reconciled with receipts and matched to outstanding balances
- Carrying out credit control and aged debt management using a variety of communication channels
- Providing up-to-date commentary on the weekly aged debt report
- Responding to customer queries such as payment queries and sending out copy invoices
- Processing telephone or in person PDQ payments, and generating payment links
- Liaising with the Sales Team and other departments to ensure accuracy of invoicing
- Assisting with cashflow forecasting
- Assisting with wider financial tasks, including AP cover
- Contributing to projects and implementations of new systems

Core Competencies
- Previous experience in financial administration and sales invoice processing is required
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Understanding VAT elements of an invoice based on different items of supply
- Confident and competent user of Microsoft Office Suite, including excellent Excel skills, and the ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Enthusiasm to contribute your ideas and initiative
- Experience using Accounting Software in your work (we use Xero) is desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a positive and enthusiastic outlook
- Demonstrable alignment with the company’s core values in attitude, conduct, and work ethic
