Are you an organised and detail-oriented individual looking to develop your finance career?
We are seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Finance team on a 12 month fixed term contract, providing key support across credit control, sales ledger activities, and wider finance projects during an exciting period of change and development.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain valuable experience within a busy finance function, working alongside experienced colleagues and contributing to a variety of business-critical projects. Whether you already have some finance experience or are looking to build your skills in a supportive environment, we'd love to hear from you.
As a Finance Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day operation of our finance function, with a particular focus on credit control and debtor management.
Key Responsibilities
- Chasing outstanding debtor balances by telephone, email, and letter.
- Issuing statements and reminder communications.
- Processing and allocating customer payments.
- Taking card payments over the telephone.
- Sending copy invoices and supporting sales ledger administration.
- Maintaining accurate debtor records and account information.
- Liaising with colleagues across the business to resolve outstanding debt issues.
- Supporting purchase ledger activities as required.
- Delivering excellent service while upholding Logistics UK's core values: Excellence, Dynamism, Togetherness, and Reputation.

In addition to your day-to-day responsibilities, you will have the opportunity to support a range of wider finance initiatives, including:
- Assisting with the wind-up of a group company during 2026.
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Helping with financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal postings.
- Assisting with year-end audit preparation and information requests.
- Providing support across the wider finance team during peak periods and holiday cover.

- Strong communication skills and a confident telephone manner.
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- A positive and collaborative approach to work.
- Previous experience within a finance, accounts, credit control, or administration role.
- An interest in developing a career within finance.
