Finance Assistant (Cradle Hill Community Primary School)

Hours of work: 13 hours per week

Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only (working for 40 weeks per year plus 6.20 weeks annual leave, which will increase after 5 years' continuous service)

(As the position is part-time & term-time only, the above salary will be pro rata)

About the Role

We are seeking to appoint a highly organised, detail-focused and motivated Finance Assistant to join our busy school office team. This is an important operational role, supporting the effective financial management of the school and ensuring robust systems, controls and processes are maintained.

Working closely with the School Business Manager and Finance Assistant, you will play a key role in the day-to-day administration of the school’s finances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer the school budget using Arbor, including orders, invoicing and BACS payments
  • Monitor expenditure and process invoices and supplier payments
  • Support teams to manage budgets and report concerns
  • Maintain accurate financial records
  • Manage trip finances and chase payments
  • Maintain audit records and support audit preparation
  • Manage nursery, wraparound care, trips and meal funds
  • Chase all outstanding debt
  • Monitor breakfast and afterschool payments and vouchers
  • Review P-Card monthly
  • Monitor and invoice lettings
  • Support budget preparation and closedown
  • Assist with reports to Governors
  • Assist in the daily operations of the school office
