Finance Assistant – Net World Sports
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-driven Finance Assistant to join our fast-paced finance team at Net World Sports. You’ll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting process improvements, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily finance functions. You’ll be confident in taking ownership of your workload and supporting junior colleagues while collaborating across departments.
What You’ll Do
- Oversee purchase ledger activities, including:
- Matching purchase orders
- Processing invoices
- Ensuring timely, accurate postings in Microsoft Dynamics NAV
- Reconcile supplier accounts, investigate discrepancies, and maintain clear communication with vendors and internal departments
- Perform and review reconciliations for:
- Company credit cards
- Petty cash
- Multiple currency payment platforms
- Prepare and distribute:
- Spend reports
- Variance reports
- Supporting management with key financial insights
- Assist with month-end routines, including:
- Accruals
- Prepayments
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Support cash flow monitoring and ensure accurate maintenance of:
- Accounts payable
- Accounts receivable ledgers
- Respond promptly to finance queries via the accounts mailbox, resolving issues efficiently and professionally
- Collaborate with colleagues to:
- Streamline finance processes
- Support adoption of automation
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide guidance and support to Finance Assistants, ensuring:
- Consistency in workflows
- Adherence to company policies and procedures
- Undertake ad hoc duties as required to support the wider finance team and business operations

What You’ll Bring
- Strong understanding of:
- Core accounting principles
- Reconciliations
- Month-end processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
- Managing and analysing large data sets
- Experience using ERP systems (preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV/Business Central)
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with:
- Strong organisational skills
- Robust time management
- A proactive, solutions-driven approach, able to:
- Work independently
- Collaborate as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, confident engaging with:
- Internal stakeholders
- External vendors
- Commitment to ongoing professional development (e.g., AAT or equivalent, desirable but not essential)
