Title: Finance Assistant (3-Month FTC)
Location: Hybrid Working Available
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 (pro rata)
3-Month Fixed-Term Contract
Our client is seeking an experienced Finance Assistant to join their finance team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional with strong bookkeeping experience to support the day-to-day finance function within a busy and fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities and maintain accurate financial records
- Perform bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies
- Support credit control activities and monitor outstanding balances
- Prepare and submit VAT returns
- Process accruals and prepayments as part of the month-end process
- Assist with payroll administration and related finance tasks
- Support the wider finance team with ad hoc reporting and analysis
- Help maintain and improve finance processes where appropriate

Role Requirements:

- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Finance Assistant or similar role
- Good all-round bookkeeping knowledge and experience
- Previous experience with bank reconciliations, VAT returns, accruals and prepayments
- Exposure to payroll processes would be advantageous
- Experience using Xero and strong Excel skills
- Strong attention to detail with good organisational skills
- Able to work independently and manage workload effectively within a short-term contract environment
