About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant within the Adults Team in the Accounts Payable department under Exchequer Services.
Responsibilities
The role involves the following key tasks:
- Managing a range of supplier account processes, including verification and resolution of queries.
- Handling invoice holds, ensuring validation and adherence to agreed payment schedules.
- Error resolution for Oracle-integrated financial data files.
- Performing reconciliation of accounts and generating relevant reports.
- Processing foreign/immediate and CHAPS payments.
- Raising debtor invoices as required.
- Investigating and resolving complex queries—both internal and external—related to invoices, purchase orders, and payments.
- Ensuring compliance with policies and procedures by providing guidance where needed.
- Supporting broader Accounts Payable operations to enhance service resilience.

Requirements & Skills
The successful candidate should demonstrate:
- Previous work experience in a fast-paced environment (desirable but not essential).
- Highly motivated, hardworking, and dedicated, thriving in a busy environment.
- Strong ability to be organised, focused, and self-sufficient in managing multiple tasks, prioritising workload, and meeting deadlines.
- Excellent relationship management skills, facilitating professional and timely engagement with team members and external stakeholders.
- Resilience and proactivity, with a positive approach when handling challenges.
- Strong time management and numeracy/literacy skills, along with high attention to detail.
- Technical/analytical abilities to troubleshoot effectively.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work under pressure and define work flexibly based on changing priorities.
