Being a Finance Assistant at Privalgo

As a Finance Assistant at Privalgo, you will play an important role in supporting the effective operation of the Finance function and the wider business. This is a broad finance role that provides exposure across financial operations, cash management, controls, reporting, supplier management and client administration, as well as day to day finance support activities.

Working closely with the Finance Director and wider team, you will help ensure financial information is accurate, reconciliations are completed on time, payments are processed efficiently, records are maintained to a high standard, and finance processes continue to support the growth of the business.

The role offers an excellent opportunity to build a long-term career in finance within a fast-moving, regulated, and growing organisation. You will gain exposure to finance operations, financial controls, reporting processes, cash management activities, and continuous improvement initiatives, developing both your technical finance knowledge and commercial understanding of how the business operates.

This role will suit someone who is ambitious, organised, and eager to develop their career in finance. You'll be joining a growing business where there is genuine opportunity to learn, take on increasing responsibility, and make a meaningful contribution. We are looking for someone who enjoys being part of a team, takes ownership of their work, and is motivated by continuous learning and improvement. As Privalgo continues to scale, we want to invest in people who are excited to grow with us for the long term.

Objectives for the Role (6-12 months)

  • Ensure the timely and accurate processing of finance transactions to support strong financial control and business operations.
  • Maintain high-quality financial records and supporting documentation that enable accurate reporting, effective governance, and operational excellence.
  • Support the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of core finance processes, ensuring reliable financial information is available to the business.
  • Contribute to a smooth and efficient month-end close by ensuring information is complete, issues are identified early, and finance controls are followed consistently.
  • Take accountability for assigned finance processes, delivering work to a high standard while supporting the wider objectives of the Finance team.
  • Build the knowledge and confidence to operate independently across routine finance activities and become a trusted partner to colleagues across the business.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency, improve controls, and support the ongoing development of the Finance function as the business grows.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Operations

  • Process purchase invoices and assist with supplier payment runs, expense management, approval tracking, supplier administration, and routine finance queries.
  • Assist with sales ledger administration, customer invoicing support, client records, finance inbox management, and maintaining supplier and customer information.
  • Support the preparation and posting of accounting journals where required.

Reconciliations and controls

  • Prepare and perform daily and monthly bank reconciliation tasks, including checking supporting information and transaction references.
  • Investigate reconciliation differences, maintain supporting schedules, and escalate unresolved issues promptly.
  • Support balance sheet reconciliations and other finance control activities that contribute to strong financial governance.
  • Help maintain accurate records and supporting schedules to ensure the Finance team remains audit-ready.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
