Finance Assistant – Edinburgh

About the Role

Welcome to Lomond, the UK’s leading network of lettings and estate agencies. Beyond being a successful acquisitions company, we are a prominent player in the real estate industry. Our extensive network spans 14 leading lettings and estate agencies, and we’ve made strategic acquisitions to strengthen our collection of brands and managed properties.

We’re seeking a Finance Assistant to join our team in Edinburgh with a hybrid working arrangement of Monday to Friday, including 1–2 remote weeks.


Key Responsibilities

The role will involve supporting the finance team across these core tasks:

  • Assist with monthly management accounts production
  • Complete daily/weekly bank reconciliations
  • Record accruals and prepayments
  • Update fixed asset registers, including depreciation entries
  • Reconcile creditor and debtor accounts
  • Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Chase customer debts and manage credit control duties
  • Support the year-end audit pack
  • Assist with quarterly VAT reporting
  • Review supplier payment runs and address queries
  • Carry out additional tasks as needed for finance department efficiency

Essential Requirements

We’re looking for candidates who combine experience with adaptability and a passion for detail. Must-haves include:

  • Prior experience in a finance role or accounts environment
  • Demonstrable administrative and procedural knowledge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • IT literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and related packages
  • Understanding of equal opportunities and diversity principles
  • Basic knowledge of the lettings or property sales market
