Finance Assistant – Edinburgh
Change Accountancy & Finance is delighted to be partnering with a long-term client as they look to recruit a Finance Assistant into their organisation. This is a unique, client-facing role based in the heart of Edinburgh, where you will act as a key point of contact for customers—using your financial knowledge and systems experience to support and resolve queries.

Role Overview
This is a highly client-facing position, blending financial knowledge—whether from a degree or hands-on experience—with customer interaction. The role focuses on solving real-world problems and leverages your financial expertise in an engaging, customer-centric environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for customers
- Support clients via phone, email, and live chat
- Provide guidance on accounting processes, leveraging financial expertise
- Assist with new client onboarding
- Deliver bespoke training sessions for new and existing users
- Test new system features and contribute feedback for continuous improvement
Candidate Profile
We seek individuals with a finance background, including:
- Graduates with an Accountancy & Finance degree
- Previous experience in a Finance Assistant/Accounts Assistant role
Strong communication skills are critical, as this role is significantly more client-facing than traditional finance positions.

Key Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in finance-related roles or a relevant academic background
- Sound understanding of month-end processes
- Experience with accounting systems (e.g., Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or similar)
- Outstanding communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset
