Finance Assistant Manager – Retail Transport Financial Reporting & Control
End Date: Wednesday 15 July 2026 Salary: £44,901 – £49,890 p.a. Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week) Work Pattern: Hybrid (at least 2 days per week or 40% at one of our office sites)

Job Title: Finance Assistant Manager – Retail Transport Financial Reporting & Control Location: Bristol About the Role:
You’ll join the Central Finance Control and Reporting team (c. 210 colleagues), partnering with Retail Transport to maintain strong financial controls and ensure confidence in reporting. This role combines financial accounting, business partnering, and a collaborative approach within a team of seven.
With influence over the wider Central Finance team, you’ll deliver financial narratives, fulfil SOX controls, and oversee annual statutory accounts. Prioritising transparency and improvement, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving efficiency and insights across multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Your role demands variety, with diverse duties evolving daily. Key priorities include:
Core Financial & Reporting Tasks
- Provide robust daily, monthly, and quarterly reporting for Retail Transport, maintaining stringent financial controls.
- Lead key Transport subsidiaries’ statutory accounts in collaboration with both Retail partners and external auditors.
- Embed risk management frameworks, ensuring a high-quality, surprise-free control environment with swift issue resolution.
- Support transformation and change initiatives, working with Platform teams to enhance processes.
- Partner with the Group to deliver accurate, insightful reporting for both subsidiaries and broader financial needs.

Strategic & Development Roles

Requirements & Skills
Education & Certification
- Strengthening your career towards (or holding) a professional finance qualification:
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- Equivalent certification
- Relevant finance experience in both financial control and statutory reporting.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Working knowledge of:
- Group reporting and control systems (or comparable financial software)
- IFRS standards and legal entity management
- Optional (but impactful):
- Power BI/Suite and automation tools (desirable but not essential)
- SOX (System of Controls) and LBG RSCA frameworks (beneficial experience for internal candidates)
- Financial risk reporting methodologies
Behavioural Requirements
- Passionate drive for financial control and statutory reporting, with a growth mindset and demonstrated leadership (aligning with LBG’s values).
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to articulate complex financial insights confidently at all levels.
- Strategic problem-solving ability, with an appetite for future transformation projects, delivering digital and operational changes.
