JOB ROLE: Finance Assistant

SALARY: £18,480 - £20,400 per annum, pro rata (equivalent to £30,800 - £34,000 full-time)
TYPE: Permanent, Part Time, 3 days per week
DEPARTMENT: Finance
REPORTS TO: Financial Controller
LOCATION: 101 St. John Street, London, EC1M 4AS | Hybrid

THE ROLE

A detail-oriented and organised Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Responsible for sales and purchase ledger activities, client and supplier onboarding, responding to finance-related queries, and assisting with month-end processes. This role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting the finance function.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and process sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Review draft sales invoices at month-end and assist in ensuring all billable work is invoiced appropriately.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to client email queries relating to invoices, payments, and account matters.
  • Process onboarding of new clients, including collecting required documentation.
  • Process onboarding of new suppliers, including collecting required documentation.
  • Support the processing of purchase invoices, ensuring they are coded correctly and entered into the accounting system.
  • Support with Pleo card processing.
  • Liaise with internal departments to investigate and resolve finance-related queries.
  • Assist with ad hoc finance, reporting, and administrative tasks as required.

THE PERSON

  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Good organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Experience using Xero and Scoro desirable
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • Professional and customer-focused approach when dealing with clients and suppliers
  • AAT qualification, or studying towards AAT, would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Reliable and trustworthy.
  • Proactive with a willingness to learn.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude.
  • Able to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
