Position: Finance Associate – Invoice to Cash (Accounts Receivable/Credit Control)
Location: Cambridge, Hybrid Role (3 days in office by default)
The Job
As part of the Invoice to Cash (I2C) / Accounts Receivable team, this role focuses on operational finance tasks, including A/R, credit control, month-end closing, and accounting processes within the Shared Services Centre (SSC).
Key Responsibilities
Daily Operations
- Collect customer payments via email and telephone, maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Post and allocate customer receipts accurately.
- Track and log customer communications, commitments, and disputes for escalation.
- Verify and resolve account discrepancies, liaising with business units and customers.
- Review payment history, credit plans, and debt resolution strategies.
Accounting & Process Improvement
- Manage external and internal queries related to invoicing and receivables.
- Conduct regular statement reviews and ensure accuracy.
- Assist in month-end closing tasks, including accrual preparation and reporting.
- Contribute to stakeholder relationships within the A/R function.
- Train and support team members as needed.
- Adhere to A/R Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identify and propose process improvements to reduce exceptions.

Shared Services & Additional Support
- Assist in SSC activities across regions and operational areas to drive efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with deadlines and billing processes.
Skills & Requirements
Essential
✔ Experience in Accounts Receivable or credit control environments. ✔ Proficiency in financial software systems and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). ✔ Strong attention to detail, integrity, and accountability. ✔ Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and perform effectively in a hybrid/team environment. ✔ Flexibility to work shift-based hours as required.
Desirable
🔹 Accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA). 🔹 Prior exposure to larger corporates or manufacturing industries.
