Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Working closely with operational leaders, you will have a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance analysis, ensuring the business has a clear understanding of financial results, risks, and opportunities. You will provide meaningful commentary and recommendations that support informed decision making, while helping to embed a strong financial awareness across the operation. Through proactive business partnering, robust financial controls, and a continuous improvement mindset, you will play a pivotal role in delivering financial targets, supporting strategic initiatives, and driving long-term success across the FVL Industrial division.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

Due to the nature of the role, it is essential that the successful candidate is a qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), with previous experience in a Finance Business Partnering, Management Accounting, or Commercial Finance role. Experience within a logistics, supply chain, industrial, or operational environment would be highly advantageous.

You will be commercially minded with strong analytical skills and the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-financial stakeholders. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, you will have proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance analysis, alongside a track record of influencing and challenging stakeholders to drive business performance. We are looking for a proactive self-starter with excellent communication and relationship-building skills, who can confidently partner with operational teams and senior leaders.
