Role Description

The Finance Business Partner is a hybrid role based in Liverpool, with flexibility for some work from home. This role involves partnering with clients to develop and monitor financial plans, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing financial reports
  • Analysing performance and variance
  • Providing clear, actionable insights to support decision-making

The Finance Business Partner will lead the financial planning, budget setting and cash flow forecasting processes, and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue growth. The role also includes supporting business planning, process improvements, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to maximize organizational impact.

Qualifications

  • Strong Finance and Financial Reporting skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex financial information clearly.
  • Demonstrated expertise in Financial Planning and Business Planning to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic initiatives.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills, including the ability to perform detailed variance analysis and develop data-driven recommendations.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Experience working as a finance partner to non-financial stakeholders, ideally with a charity, social enterprise or responsible business.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to challenge constructively and influence decisions.
  • Proficiency with financial systems and Excel or other analytical tools; experience with reporting and dashboarding tools is beneficial.
  • Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and contribute to continuous improvement in financial processes and controls.

Our purpose is to help the social economy to thrive, and we do this by providing our professional finance skills to charities, social enterprises, and other purpose-led organisations where social impact and environmental sustainability are as valued as financial success. We continue to see very strong demand for our services and are growing rapidly.

Our team of 20 staff have an office in the historic Bluecoat building in central Liverpool and we operate a hybrid model mixing working from home with collaboration time in the office.
