Finance Business Partner
Sowena Group are partnering with an established technology business to recruit a commercially focused Finance Business Partner. This is a key role within the finance team, working closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to provide financial insight, support strategic decision-making, and drive business performance. The successful candidate will combine strong technical accounting knowledge with commercial awareness to influence decisions, improve profitability, and support sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with operational and commercial leaders to provide financial support, challenge, and insight.
- Produce accurate and timely management information, analysing performance against budget, forecast, and prior year.
- Deliver meaningful financial analysis and commentary to support business performance and strategic decision-making.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring robust assumptions and clear communication of financial outlook.
- Monitor key financial and operational performance indicators, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Support business cases, investment appraisals, pricing decisions, and commercial initiatives.
- Review profitability, gross margin, working capital, and cash flow performance, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure strong financial governance through effective reporting, balance sheet review, and financial controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting capability, and data quality.
- Build strong relationships across the business, promoting financial awareness and accountability.
- Support strategic projects, acquisitions, integrations, or other business initiatives as required.
- Mentor and support members of the finance team where appropriate.

- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
- Previous experience in a Finance Business Partner, FP&A, or commercially focused finance role.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence decision-making.
- Excellent analytical, financial modelling, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience of budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.
- Confident communicator with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business.
- Strong Excel and financial systems experience.
- Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
