Finance Business Partner – Revenue & Regulation @ National Grid
At National Grid, we keep society moving while fostering an environment where employees thrive. As we accelerate the UK’s Net Zero transition, we’re empowering teams to make a meaningful impact. Join us as a Finance Business Partner in our Revenue & Regulation team and uncover your strength.
National Grid is central to delivering the UK’s Net Zero goals, and robust regulation is critical. As part of our Revenue & Regulation team, you’ll shape and drive our regulatory strategy, leading financial submissions to Ofgem and collaborating with key stakeholders to define future allowed revenues. You’ll align reported performance with regulatory metrics, partnering with Group Financial Control and wider business teams to ensure accurate forecasting and impactful financial advice that drives value.
This role at our Warwick office (hybrid: two days in-office) delivers a deep insight into National Grid’s operations—value creation, return optimisation, and balancing its impact on consumer energy bills in a dynamic regulatory landscape.
Prior regulatory finance experience is a plus, but not essential.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the annual revenue forecast submission to Ofgem via the Price Control Financial Model, optimising revenue while ensuring compliance and managing financial risk.
- Partner with Group Financial Control to reconcile Ofgem revenue positions against reported Underlying Revenue, addressing key sensitivities and assumptions.
- Project manage the Regulatory Financial Performance Reporting (RFPR) process, coordinating across business units to enhance performance outcomes.
- Engage directly with Ofgem to ensure correct application of price control financials, while responding to relevant consultations.
- Serve as a centre of excellence for regulatory finance, providing clear and insightful advice for Finance and non-technical teams.
- Build and embed knowledge of RIIO frameworks and regulatory standards to support value-add decision-making.
- Manage a direct report while contributing to a high-performing team, driving continuous improvement.
- Identify and deliver cost-saving measures, including AI tool optimisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
