Job Overview

To provide an efficient and effective financial management service to the Provide Group.

  • Delivery of financial reports in a timely and accurate basis
  • The post plays a key role in ensuring that the financial position of Provide is accurately reported and enables the Board to make robust financial decisions.

Main duties of the job

  • Lead the organisation on all technical aspects of financial accounting ensuring that the financial reporting standards are interpreted and are fully met in order to assist with the production of the organisation's Annual Accounts and all statutory, monthly and annual returns
  • Responsible for the completion and monitoring of cashflow and treasury functions.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities

  • Attend Division/Directorate meetings and participate fully in their agendas, including the provision of expert financial advice to senior Division managers, and attendance and presentation of financial reports at monthly meetings.
  • To maintain communication with the Divisional management teams, including Chief Officers, Directors, and Assistant Directors, on a regular basis.
  • To oversee the work of Finance staff and to take a leading role in the production of monthly budget statements and financial reports in accordance with the CIC agreed timetables and departmental policies and procedures.
  • To prepare consolidated financial monthly performance reports and forecasts analysing trends and variances for the Chief Officers, Directors, Assistant Directors, Boards, Division/Directorate and external agencies in accordance with the CIC/Group monthly financial timetable.
  • To support and develop the Finance team professionally and personally including performance management through input (via the Senior Finance Business Partner) into appraisals, PDP’s, objectives setting.
  • To ensure that all Division/Directorate income sources are maximised and agreements are signed off in accordance with CIC/Group policy and timetables. To provide financial support to the commissioning process and participate in negotiation of service agreements when required. To ensure that all Division/Directorate recharges both inward and outward are robustly managed.

  • ECDL or equivalent is essential – i.e. experienced in the use of financial systems/spreadsheets/databases/word processing. Advanced keyboard skills essential.
