Finance Business Partner
Manchester/Bolton area
ISS Facility Services UK are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to take end-to-end ownership of month-end close, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, payroll, cost control, business reviews, and commercial decision support.
This position provides clear financial leadership in a tight-margin environment, requiring the ability to translate complex financial data into meaningful, actionable insights for operational and commercial stakeholders. The role is focused on adding value through high-quality analysis and influencing decision-making.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, this role consolidates responsibilities traditionally spread across multiple finance positions. The emphasis is on insight-led support rather than transactional finance, ensuring efficiency, control, and measurable commercial impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full accountability for the timely and accurate month-end close, ensuring strong financial control and reporting integrity
- Own month-end reporting, including P&L variance analysis, balance sheet review (including GRNI and purchase order accruals), and working capital oversight
- Deliver KPI reporting and run-rate analysis to support operational performance tracking
- Lead monthly operational finance reviews, presenting clear financial insights and driving corrective actions to improve margins
- Act as the primary finance contact, providing a consistent and credible financial perspective across the business
- Prepare and deliver internal business reviews, including performance commentary, risks, opportunities, and ownership of actions
- Manage payroll, labour, and cost analysis, challenging variances and partnering with operations to control spend
- Lead budgeting and forecasting processes, including planning tools, purchase order governance, accruals, and commercial support for contract changes

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
