AESC is a global leader in the development and manufacturing of high-performance lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and energy storage systems. With significant growth plans in Sunderland, AESC is expanding its workforce to support the transition to sustainable mobility and the future of battery manufacturing.

Outline and Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of program cost base, in order to constructively challenge spend with Operations and Support functions.
  • Cost & margin analysis by budget-holder, for output to Senior leadership. Identify improvement areas and develop strategies to optimize cost performance.
  • Support preparation of annual cost budgets and periodic forecasting.
  • Cost benchmarking (internal and external) to optimize total delivered cost.
  • Business partnering with Operations to identify and deliver cost improvement initiatives.
  • Additional job responsibilities to be discussed at interview.

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/FCCA), or QBE with significant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting.
  • Experience in Manufacturing Finance desirable.
  • Strong business partnering background, including engagement with Senior leadership.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite, especially Excel.
  • Working knowledge of SAP desirable, but not essential.
