Senior Finance Business Partner

Role Type: 3 Month Interim Contract Rate: £400–£500 per day (Inside IR35) Location: South West London – Hybrid Working


Our client, a fast-growing consumer brand, is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner on an interim basis to provide critical support during a transitional period.

This is a high-impact role bridging finance and commercial operations, requiring close collaboration with stakeholders across Marketing, Merchandising, and Operations. The ideal candidate must blend strong commercial acumen with a willingness to remain hands-on, seamlessly managing both business partnering and core financial tasks—from month-end reporting to strategic analysis.


About the Role

Directly reporting into senior finance leadership, the successful candidate will act as a trusted strategic advisor to multiple departments while providing day-to-day finance function support.


Key Responsibilities

  • Business Partnering

    • Provide financial insight and commercial support to Marketing, Merchandising, and Operations teams
  • Financial Close & Reporting

    • Own and support month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments and timely management reporting
    • Deliver trading analysis, performance reporting, and profitability reviews to drive business decisions
    • Prepare and present actionable financial analysis, identifying trends, risks, and growth opportunities

  • Budgeting & Forecasting

    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and reforecasting across key business functions
    • Influence stakeholders to improve commercial performance and cost control
  • Management Information & Performance Tracking

    • Produce and distribute clear management information and reporting packs for senior leadership
    • Monitor key trading and operational KPIs, providing data-driven recommendations
    • Support cash flow visibility and working capital management where required
  • Projects & Transition Support

    • Assist with ad-hoc finance initiatives and process improvements during the two-month interim

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification required
  • Experience: Senior Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance Manager, or FP&A background
  • Technical & Operational Skills:
    • Hands-on month-end, reporting, and financial analysis experience
    • Strong background in commercial finance within retail, consumer, e-commerce, or multi-channel businesses
    • Proficient in strategic and tactical finance functions
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience in financial modelling
  • Soft Skills:
    • Ability to build trust and influence senior leaders
    • Strong stakeholder management
  • Availability: Must be available to commence immediately
