Are you a commercially minded Finance Manager who enjoys driving change and transformation rather than simply reporting the numbers?

We're recruiting for a growing nationwide business, with international links, looking for a Finance Manager to lead process improvements, deliver meaningful business insights, and partner with operational teams to improve performance.

Role overview

We are seeking a commercially minded Finance Manager to lead and develop the UK finance function. This role goes beyond traditional accounting and reporting responsibilities, with a strong emphasis on analysis, business partnering, process improvement, and decision support.

The successful candidate will be a proactive finance leader who can use financial and operational data to identify trends, challenge existing practices, and drive meaningful improvements across the business.

  • Oversee the day-to-day finance function, ensuring accurate financial reporting and effective financial controls.
  • Produce monthly management accounts, forecasts, and budgets.
  • Analyse operational and financial performance trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Partner with operational teams to improve profitability, productivity, and working capital.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics.
  • Provide actionable business insights to support strategic decision-making.
  • Challenge existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements.
  • Support the continued evolution of the finance function from transaction processing towards analysis and business partnering.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We are seeking a change agent rather than a traditional Finance Manager. The successful candidate should have demonstrated experience in:

  • Leading finance transformation initiatives.
  • Challenging legacy ways of working.
  • Redesigning end-to-end processes.
  • Driving standardisation and simplification.
  • Implementing automation and efficiency improvements.
  • Managing organisational change and stakeholder resistance.

The ability to influence, motivate, and bring people along the journey is essential. We are not looking for someone who simply maintains existing processes; we are looking for someone who can improve them and help shape the future operating model of the UK finance function.

Candidate profile

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) or qualified by experience.
  • Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior finance role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to translate financial data into business insights.
  • Experience of process improvement, transformation, and change management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within freight forwarding, logistics, or a related industry would be a significant advantage.
