What you’ll be responsible for
- Providing Finance Business Partnering services to the Operational Business, developing good working relationships with budget holders and providing a finance presence within the relevant business area.
- Building positive working relationships with budget holders and managers across the business.
- Providing constructive financial support and helping stakeholders make informed decisions regarding expenditure, coding, and financial processes.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across all Finance Business Partnering areas.
- Supporting and attending budget holder meetings as required.
- Preparing variance analysis and commentary to support monthly financial reporting.
- Running monthly financial reports from SAP and exporting information into Excel and Word.
- Supporting the preparation of zero-based budgets.
- Preparing and posting month-end journals and accruals, including SAP uploads.
- Running blocked and parked invoice reports in SAP and preparing associated accruals.
- Analysing and reconciling balance sheet accounts within SAP ledgers.
- Supporting internal and external audit activities by providing requested information and documentation.
- Assisting with weekly payment runs, payroll audits, one-bill payments, and balance sheet reconciliations as required.
- Producing and distributing monthly TOTEX reports for budget holders and other stakeholders.
- Supporting the preparation of forecasts and business plans for the relevant operational area.
- Ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and supporting compliance with management accounting reporting requirements.
- Communicating financial information clearly and effectively to colleagues and stakeholders with varying levels of financial knowledge.
- Undertaking additional duties, where appropriate, to support the needs of the team and wider business.

About you
Essential Qualifications
- A recognised accounting technician qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
Essential Experience
- Experience working within a finance environment.
Essential Knowledge & Skills
- A commitment to delivering excellent service and supporting positive outcomes for customers and colleagues.
- Ability to maintain effective financial controls and ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial data.
- Working knowledge of SAP, particularly Financial Accounting (FI) and Controlling (CO) modules.
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and Word, including experience using pivot tables and lookups.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships across finance and operational teams.
- Ability to analyse, interpret, and present financial information clearly.
- Confidence in engaging with stakeholders and supporting decision-making through financial insight.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy.
- A collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues and contribute to team success.
