About The Role

As Finance Business Partner you will play a key role in supporting senior leaders to make well informed, financially sound and customer focused decisions. The role provides high quality insight, challenge and analysis that strengthens performance, improves value for money and supports long term financial sustainability.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, you will translate financial and operational information into meaningful intelligence, help shape strategic priorities, and build financial capability within directorates to drive better outcomes for customers and the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use financial and operational data to support and challenge decision-making, helping managers understand costs, drivers, assumptions and risks while promoting a commercially aware, customer-focused approach.
  • Collaborate with FP&A and business areas to connect operational performance, investment decisions and long-term financial plans, ensuring a joined-up view of financial sustainability.
  • Strengthen budgeting, forecasting and financial planning capability through insight, challenge and analysis, ensuring plans are accurate, consistent and forward-looking.
  • Provide insight on budgets, forecasts and actuals to assess performance trends, highlight variances and identify risks, opportunities and actionable interventions.
  • Support business cases, investment appraisals and options analysis, working with directorates and finance colleagues to inform strategic decisions.
  • Embed a Value for Money culture through benchmarking and performance analysis, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, customer outcomes and social impact.
  • Proactively generate meaningful financial and operational insights that support regulatory requirements, enhance customer experience and inform strategy.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, AI and digital tools, supporting delivery of the Finance Improvement Plan and enhancing reporting, processes and systems.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing Finance function by sharing knowledge, promoting best practice and supporting continuous improvement.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
