Purpose of the Role
This is a core team member of McLaren’s ERP programme. The Finance Business Partner will represent the needs of operational and functional stakeholders throughout the design, build and deployment of the ERP solution. The role will report into the Finance Lead and will ensure that business requirements are understood, documented, prioritised and translated into effective ERP processes, reporting and controls in collaboration with the implementation partner.
Acting as the link between Finance, Operations, Technology and the Systems Integrator, the Finance Business Partner will help drive process standardisation, business readiness, user adoption and benefits realisation across the organisation.
The successful candidate will combine strong finance knowledge with excellent stakeholder management skills and a passion for business transformation.
Business Partnership and Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a primary finance representative for designated business functions and workstreams.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Procurement, Commercial, Technology and People teams.
- Understand current business challenges, reporting requirements and operational processes.
- Ensure stakeholder perspectives are reflected in the future-state ERP design.
- Participate in workshops and design sessions to gather business requirements and validate proposed solutions.
- Support decision-making by presenting options, impacts, risks and recommendations.
- Be prepared to drop in and support other functions as different sprints require different skill sets and resources across the Finance team

Business Process Design
Support the design of end-to-end processes across:
- Procure-to-Pay (P2P)
- Order-to-Cash (O2C)
- Record-to-Report (R2R)
- Projects and Cost Management
- Expenses and Credit Cards
- Fixed Assets
- Integrations with MRP
- Financial Planning and Reporting
Understand existing ways of working to promote standardisation and best practice.
- Ensure processes align with governance, controls and reporting requirements.
- Identify opportunities for automation and reduction of manual effort.
Requirements And Validations
- Support the capture and document detailed business requirements.
- Review solution designs and configuration proposals to ensure business needs are met.
- Support fit-gap assessments and prioritisation of requirements.
- Validate system functionality through demonstrations, workshops and testing activities.
- Ensure future-state processes deliver business value and improved user experience.
Change & Adoption
- Champion the ERP programme within the business.
- Support change impact assessments and stakeholder readiness activities.
- Assist with training design, communications and user engagement initiatives.
- Help develop super-user networks across departments.
- Drive adoption of new processes and ways of working.
Testing & Deployment
- Support test planning and business acceptance testing.
- Coordinate business participation in testing activities.
- Validate that business processes operate effectively in the new environment.
- Assist with defect triage and resolution.
- Support cutover planning and go-live readiness activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Good understanding of good process and ERP system capability.
- Good understanding of finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C) and accounting principles.
- Experience in product ownership, business analysis, or ERP governance.
- Comfort in working in a sprint environment with changing tasks and priorities.
- Exceptional internal business partner.
- Ability to translate business needs into system requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Commercially aware, able to connect platform decisions to business outcomes.

McLaren Racing is based at the iconic McLaren Technology Centre (MTC) near Woking. Here at McLaren, we offer hybrid working with 3 days a week based in the MTC.
Our state of the art, sustainable campus offers many facilities including a gym, restaurant and indoor and outdoor break-out areas, as well as direct access to park and common land. The MTC is connected to Woking mainline station via regular shuttle buses, from which London Waterloo is a 30 minute train ride.
