Finance Business Partner (FTC)
Business Partner (Healthcare & Education Portfolio) – Ipswich (Hybrid)
About The Role
The Business Partner will play a pivotal role within the Finance & Commercial Team, supporting all commercial and operational finance matters for contracts in the Healthcare & Education sector. Key responsibilities include:
- Forecasting, month-end and monthly reporting
- Supporting contract direction and development
- Budget planning and variance analysis
- Strategic Finance SME for assigned contracts
- Collaboration with audit, corporate finance, and operations teams
Contract & Location
- Initial 3-month term
- Hybrid working (based in Ipswich)
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary finance contact for external auditors on all contracts.
- Financially appraise operational activities and new mobilisations to identify and escalate performance issues.
- Provide financial leadership as the point of contact for the Operations Director, delivering analysis and support for efficient contract management.
- Train Contract Managers and teams on financial best practices, with participation in operational meetings as needed.
- Prepare management accounts, ensuring accuracy through collaboration with Corporate Finance & Operations.
- Generate and analyse timely financial and non-financial reports, ensuring compliance with internal processes.
- Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and conduct performance analyses (e.g., margin optimisation).
- Develop, track, and consolidated budgets and forecasts on schedule for relevant contracts.
- Monitor un-invoiced revenue & aged debtors for compliance with revenue recognition policies.
- Act as the Finance Subject Matter Expert (SME) for contracts, fostering strong cross-functional relationships.

Requirements
- Right to work in the UK.
- Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, or CIMA), or qualified by experience.
- Proven expertise in:
- Management accounts
- Budgeting & forecasting
- Financial analysis
- Commercial acumen with the ability to translate financial insights clearly.
- Advanced Excel proficiency, alongside experience with financial systems (e.g., Dynamics 365, Power BI).
- Strong interpersonal skills and a track record of building productive working relationships.
