Procurement Finance Business Partner – IAG Transform

About the Role

Purpose

As a Procurement Finance Business Partner, you will drive financial excellence by analysing supplier cost performance at the most granular level to identify key trends and savings opportunities across International Airlines Group (IAG).

Acting as a strategic business partner, you will collaborate closely with:

  • IAG Transform procurement teams
  • OpCo finance teams

to:

  • Track savings initiatives
  • Manage delivery risks
  • Reconcile P&L impacts

You will play a pivotal role in the comprehensive financial planning process—including forecasting, budgeting, and the strategic five-year plan—while establishing robust monthly reporting frameworks for the IAG Management Committee.

Additionally, you will:

  • Evaluate and financially model complex business cases for new activities
  • Proactively challenge senior stakeholders and provide actionable recommendations to safeguard the cost base

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse supplier cost performance across IAG at the most granular level, identifying trends and key movements
  • Work closely with Procurement teams in IAG Transform to understand the status of savings, initiatives, and risks to delivery
  • Liaise with OpCo finance teams to:
    • Reconcile P&L impacts of initiatives
    • Align supplier cost reporting to the IAG Management Committee (MC)
    • Understand/analyse future risks to the cost base
  • Play a key role in the financial planning process and the delivery of Supplier Cost savings across IAG, including:
    • Forecasting
    • Budgeting
    • Strategic five-year planning
  • Build strong working relationships with teams while understanding:
    • Their short-term and longer-term objectives
    • The financial impact of decisions
  • Provide financial support in evaluating business cases for extended scope/new activities, including:
    • Financial modelling
    • Challenging and providing recommendations

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Required

  • Delivery of Supplier Cost savings and targets from the procurement team
  • Robust reporting framework to provide granularity and insight to the IAG Management Committee monthly
  • Performance and delivery of Procurement Supplier Cost initiatives vs. targets
  • University degree in Finance, Economics, or equivalent
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of experience in:
    • Financial evaluation
    • Influencing/decision-making
    • Business acumen
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Spend analysis
    • Cost transparency
    • Procurement-related analytics
  • Ability to build excellent working relationships across multiple teams and locations
  • Strong communication skills
  • Confidence in challenging senior stakeholders when appropriate
  • Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
  • Business partnering experience (even if gained outside a traditional role)
