We are looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner who will be responsible for building strong partnerships and partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to provide high quality financial advice, analysis and support. The role will contribute significantly to robust financial management and enable informed business decision making that align with organisational objectives.

You will be responsible for delivering high quality financial analysis and business support, leading the budgeting and forecasting processes, reporting on monthly financial performance, providing meaningful insights and variance analysis, supporting key management forums, contributing to financial decision making and delivering financial training to non-finance stakeholders. You must effectively collaborate with business partners, colleagues and directors to support strategic decision making through the provision of robust financial and operational information as well as monitoring external market, economic, regulatory, and sector developments, assessing potential risks and opportunities and providing advice on their impact on service areas and the wider organisation. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
