This is a great opportunity to join our expense management team in this operational Finance Business Partner role, where you’ll provide effective delivery of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis. You’ll be the lead contact for Directorate(s) on all matters relating to their financial management and reporting of management expenses.

What you'll be doing:

  • Finance lead for Directorate(s) providing effective expense guidance and challenge on their expense base.
  • Interpretation of financial reporting to support GEC member decision making when it comes to expense mgmt.
  • Lead the Directorate(s) to make decisions within their expense base to ensure they meet their strategic objectives. Covering sensitive topics such as headcount, promotions and rem review.
  • Responsible for the Budget, Reforecast and Monthly reporting for all Divisions within the Directorate(s) and understand this cost base in context with the rest of the company.
  • Completion of month end activities including accruals and prepayments, understanding of variances and monitoring of opportunities & vulnerabilities and the production of controls & reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Produce financial calculations in business cases for the Directorate.
  • Provide guidance on supplier management linking up with the relevant Procurement colleagues for the Directorate – aiming for consolidation of spend and best commercial outcomes for SJP.

Who we’re looking for:

  • Qualified Accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA etc) or qualified by experience within similar finance business partnering roles.
  • Knowledge and experience of using ERP and expense management systems.
  • Knowledge and experience of expense management practices, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Ability to take financial information and articulate it in a clear way to a variety of audiences, from general budget holders up to the GEC member.
  • Use historical data and trends to make informed predictions for future planning.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.
  • Be able to articulate any impact on a relevant business area as a result of financial decisions and also any further impact to the SJP business or SJP’s objectives.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player alongside other Finance Business Partners and the expense management team.
