Finance Business Partner
We are seeking a Finance Business Partner to support financial planning, cost control, and commercial decision-making across our Central Functions.
This key role involves driving financial discipline, transparency, and accountability across the organisation, working closely with Department Heads and key stakeholders. The position entails:
- Ownership of central cost bases, including budgeting, forecasting, spend oversight, and financial controls
- Strengthening processes such as purchase order (PO) governance and invoice approvals
- Oversight of CapEx and project-related spend, with financial tracking of project deliverables
- Partnering with FP&A and Finance teams for robust financial management of investments
This role can be based in Birmingham or London, offering a hybrid workstyle.
What Does the Role Entail?
Business Partnering
- Act as the primary Finance Business Partner for Central Functions, including HR, IT, Marketing, Legal, and Operations
- Build trusting relationships to deliver insight, guidance, and constructive challenge
- Support stakeholders in managing budgets and understanding performance
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support annual budget, forecasts, and planning cycles
- Provide visibility on cost drivers, trends, and risks
- Assist in scenario analysis for decision-making and cost optimisation
Cost Control & Spend Management
- Monitor functional cost performance against budget
- Support through:
- Invoice review and approval processes
- Supplier spend tracking
- Variance analysis and explanation
- Adherence to financial policies and controls
PO Process & Financial Governance
- Develop and implement effective Purchase Order (PO) processes
- Collaborate with Procurement and Finance to:
- Improve spend visibility and controls
- Strengthen governance and compliance
- Enhance supplier and invoice efficiency

CapEx & Project Support
- Track and oversee CapEx and project-related spend
- Work with project owners to:
- Monitor actual budgets
- Maintain financial tracking clarity
- Ensure proper approvals and controls
- Support improvement in investment performance visibility
Reporting & Insight
- Produce and support monthly financial reporting for Central Functions
- Translate data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders
- Enhance Power BI and other reporting tools
Collaboration
- Partner closely with:
- FP&A on planning and analysis
- Finance/Controllership on accounting and governance
- Procurement on supplier and spend processes
- Act as the key bridge between finance and operational functions
What We’re Looking For
- Fully or part-qualified accountant (e.g., ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Experience in FP&A, management accounting, or business partnering
- Strong financial acumen in:
- Budgeting, forecasting, cost control
- Financial process exposure (e.g., PO, procurement, spend controls) is a plus
- expérience working with non-financial stakeholders
- Analytical, communication, and organisational skills
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and accountable by nature
