Finance Business Partner (Retail) – Role at Huel

The Role

We're looking for a commercially minded, analytically sharp Finance Business Partner to own the financial performance of our global Retail channel and act as a trusted partner to our sales teams.

  • Use your experience in previous Retail Finance roles to bring rigour and accountability to:
    • Budgets and forecasts
    • Trade investment decisions
    • Retailer/country P&Ls

You’ll own the end-to-end financial performance of the global Retail channel across all markets, including:

  • All commercial insight
  • Budgeting and forecasting
  • Correct allocation of revenue and costs to the channel

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the management accounts team:

    • Ensure accurate recording of trade and promotional spend
    • Track channel-specific costs in Retail markets
    • Analyse variances to budgets and forecasts
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process financially, working closely with Sales teams to cover:

    • Gross revenue
    • Trade spend
    • Direct Retail marketing spend
  • Partner with Sales teams to provide:

    • Financial insight and challenge on revenue outlooks
    • Promotional activity planning
    • Marketing spend strategies
    • Retailer negotiations
    • New business opportunities
  • Build and maintain retailer P&Ls, providing clear visibility of:

    • Profitability by account
    • Market
    • Product
  • Own market-level Retail P&Ls and:

    • Work with cross-functional teams to create improvement roadmaps
  • Develop financial models to support:

    • Business cases for new products, retailers, and markets
  • Work closely with data teams to ensure accurate reporting across all Retail business units to inform decision-making.

What We’re Looking For

This role suits a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with 5+ years post-qualification experience.

You’ll also demonstrate:

  • Proven business partnering experience in supporting Retail trading teams
  • Strong grasp of Retail commercial mechanics, including:
    • Trade investment
    • Promotional spend management
    • Retailer P&Ls
    • Margin management
  • Strong communication skills to engage and influence senior non-finance executives
  • A commercially curious mindset—interested in the business beyond financials
  • Analytical strengths with the ability to:
    • Build complex financial models
    • Explain outputs clearly and simply
  • Capacity to thrive in a high-pressure, multi-tasking environment
  • Ability to:
    • Set your own direction (comfortable with ambiguity)
    • Embrace fast-paced, creative working conditions
  • Interest in exploring AI’s impact on finance
