The Role
Retail isn't what it used to be. It's faster, leaner and more competitive than ever. Every decision matters – from how we staff our stores to where we invest for growth.
And behind every smart decision? A finance partner who knows the numbers, understands the business and isn't afraid to speak up. That's where you come in...
This isn't about reporting on the past. It's about shaping the future of a £650m retail operation spanning more than 800 stores across the UK and Ireland.
You'll give senior Retail stakeholders the insight they need and the challenge they might not always expect. Your work will influence revenue plans, store profitability and decisions affecting millions of customers.
For you, it's an opportunity to get close to the action, influence at the highest level and help shape the commercial performance of one of the UK's best-known retail brands.
What you'll be doing
- Lead revenue and cost forecasting, reporting and long-range planning across Retail.
- Partner with Retail Directors, Stores and Property teams to understand and improve store profitability.
- Turn weekly, monthly and ad-hoc reporting into clear insight people can act on.
- Challenge assumptions, highlight risks and uncover opportunities across revenue, stock loss, operating costs and capital.
- Build robust financial models and scenarios that support confident commercial decisions.
- Present budgets, forecasts and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Help improve how Finance works by supporting reporting automation and AI-led transformation.
- Provide direction and support to Finance Analysts working across the Retail agenda.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
