Role Overview

We are looking for a commercially focused Finance Business Partner to play a pivotal role in supporting strategic decision-making across VIVO. This is far more than a traditional finance role—you'll work alongside senior operational leaders, providing financial insight, challenge and guidance that helps shape business performance, improve profitability and support the successful delivery of our contracts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop strong relationships with Operational Directors, budget holders and senior stakeholders, ensuring finance is embedded at the heart of decision-making.
  • Help leaders understand the financial impact of operational decisions, identify risks and opportunities, and provide the analysis needed to support sustainable growth and commercial success.
  • Take ownership of a portfolio of management accounts, ensuring accurate monthly reporting, financial analysis and forecasting.
  • Work closely with operational teams, leading annual budgeting and regular forecasting activities, providing clear financial insight that supports both short and long-term planning.
  • Analyse operational and commercial performance, using financial data and key performance indicators to identify trends, challenge assumptions and drive improvements.
  • Work proactively with contract and commercial teams to maximise profitability, improve financial performance and minimise risk, while ensuring robust financial controls remain in place.
  • Ensure revenues, costs and work in progress are accurately reflected within the financial accounts.
  • Help drive effective billing and cash collection, identifying issues early, supporting commercial discussions and ensuring strong cash performance across the contract.
  • Contribute to wider business initiatives, including bids, mobilisation activities, business cases and change programmes, providing financial modelling, analysis and commercial support where required.
  • Produce ad hoc reporting and strategic analysis to support business planning and investment decisions.
  • Attend leadership meetings, influence decision-making and provide constructive challenge where appropriate.
  • Build strong relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors and advisers, while ensuring financial reporting remains accurate, compliant and delivered in line with group requirements.
  • Streamline financial processes, improve reporting, introduce greater automation and strengthen financial governance across the business.
  • Lead, coach and develop members of the finance team, supporting their professional growth while ensuring high standards of performance.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
