The Group is undergoing significant ambitious transformation, which has led to the requirement for a high performing central Finance function.

The Role

We are looking to recruit a Finance Business Partner on a fixed term basis (18 months) to provide support to the Transformation function. The role is flexible in location (Newcastle or London preferred) and will require some travel.

Reporting to the Corporate Director – Finance, you will proactively engage with senior business leaders to provide strategic and operational finance support for key transformation initiatives within the group’s Value Creation Plan.

You Will Provide Robust Finance Leadership And Management In Support Of Relevant Business Leaders To Achieve Business Goals And Support Future Growth Objectives

  • Acting as trusted partner to business leaders
  • Acting as the “shop window” of finance – owner of business relationships not processes
  • Utilising insightful financial information and analysis to create actions which support or challenge business decisions
  • Ensuring effective support for investment and spend decisions including for example robust ROI on investments, ongoing review of spend

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of financial models, budgets and forecasts for VCP initiatives
  • Approval of spend drawdown requests made against budget and forecast, and ensure adherence to financial governance processes
  • Working closely with the Group Transformation Director and PMO function
  • Conducting financial justification for project approvals
  • Act as a catalyst for change and challenge decision-making based on sound financial and commercial reasoning

Experience Required

  • Strong transformation/project experience, ideally within a fast paced PE environment.
  • Candidates should hold a recognised accounting qualification (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Team player with strong communication skills to build good relationships at all levels is critical, with experience of working in a matrix business a distinct advantage
  • Strong initiative and go-get attitude with a desire to understand the financial numbers is essential
  • Excellent excel modelling skills are essential
