We are building ClosedPeriod

A modern AI-powered accounting platform designed specifically for UK SMEs, sole traders, and accountants. We are looking for an experienced Finance Controller / Senior Accountant to join us as a key technical and compliance expert.

You will play a critical role in shaping the platform’s accounting logic, ensuring full UK compliance (VAT, Corporation Tax, MTD, FRS 102/105), and helping us deliver accurate, reliable financial workflows. A strong audit background and hands-on experience reviewing accounting software are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and review UK statutory accounting, VAT returns, Corporation Tax computations, and Making Tax Digital (MTD) compliance logic.
  • Review and guide the development of core accounting features (reconciliation, ledger integrity, period closing, financial statements) from a practising accountant’s perspective.
  • Work closely with the product and engineering teams to ensure technical implementation follows correct UK accounting standards and best practices.
  • Test and validate new features and AI suggestions from a real-world UK compliance and usability standpoint.
  • Provide expert input on workflows in Xero, QuickBooks, IRIS, and other UK accounting software.
  • Mentor junior accountants and support the growth of the finance team.
  • Help define and improve internal accounting processes, controls, and documentation standards.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
