ROLE SUMMARY
Do you thrive on turning data into impact? We’re seeking a Finance Analyst to bridge HR and Finance, focusing on HR cost budget management—from data accuracy and system optimisation to strategic decision-making—for UK Schools, Global Online Schools, and USA divisions.
As the owner of HR cost data, you’ll be pivotal in designing budgeting frameworks, variance reporting, and cost analysis, ensuring financial insights drive business strategy. You’ll report to UK & Online Finance leadership, collaborate with HR Directors and CEOs, and work across the organisation, balancing precision, disclosure, and bold innovation.
Location: Mayfair, London, with a 4-day office/1-day work-from-home profile.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Budget & Forecast Process
- Lead HR cost budgeting for **UK, Online, and USA regions.
- Coordinate monthly budget submissions and produce variance commentary reports for leadership.
- Centralise HR cost analysis to produce consolidated reports and support strategic financial planning.

Monthly Staff Cost Control
- Assist the HR/payroll team in payroll close processes.
- Spot-check entries, identify discrepancies, and address accruals/reversals with HR Directors.
- Ensure cost reporting accuracy and propose optimisation strategies.
Analysis & Process Improvement
- Improve HR cost-control processes with data-driven recommendations.
- Drive automation and system efficiency for HR and finance teams.
Reporting & Strategic Support
- Generate ad-hoc forecasts and reports based on business needs.
- Partner with HR Business Partners to design action plans informed by data trends.
Data Collection & Integrity
- Gather, clean, and verify data from HRIS (SuccessFactors), payroll, surveys, and financial records.
- Ensure data quality and audit-readiness for compliance and internal reviews.
Trend & Predictive Analysis
- Identify workforce trends, forecast hr costs and capacity needs.
- Study employee attrition drivers (recruitment/training expenditures).
Insight Translation
- Simplify complex HR/finance data into actionable insights for leadership teams.
- Present findings in accessible formats (e.g., visual dashboards).

Compliance & Auditing
- Contribute to HR regulatory filings and support internal/external audits of processes.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
- Attention to detail with near-errorless reporting and data management.
- Fluency in Excel, with a head start in HRIS platforms (e.g., SuccessFactors) and data visualisation (Power BI).
- Data science/statistical software know-how is a desirable plus.
- Critical thinking: **Question elephant-grabs—**analyze exceptions, not just comply with controls.
- Transform data into workflows/solutions—turn raw insights into practical strategies.
- Thrives in a fast-paced cross-departmental environment, juggling multiple priorities with agility.
- Cultural fluency: Build rapid trust—from HR Directors to C-suite, balancing honesty and discretion with sensitive HR considerations.
- Education/Qualification: Underway towards or holding a degree in Data Analytics, Finance, HR, Business, or related field.
- Familiarity with HR/HRIS core concepts (compensation, incentives, turnover cycles) and multi-currency reconciliations.
