Finance Digitalisation Programme Lead

Join us for a critical Programme Lead opportunity to drive strategic change within our Finance Evolution initiatives.

About the Role

This key role is designed to deliver simplification, cost reduction, and operational excellence across the organisation. You’ll operate at an enterprise level, leading Risk and Finance Data Transformation and supporting bank-wide change initiatives while managing a high-performing team to service the Finance function.

The role involves ownership of the Finance investment for non-regulatory projects, collaborating with the Finance ExCo to reprioritise funding and enhance return on investment. You’ll shape senior stakeholder engagement across Finance, franchises, and technology teams to deliver on strategic ambitions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the execution of the Finance Evolution strategy, a long-term plan for digitalisation and transformation within the Finance function, including the Risk and Finance Data Transformation Programme.
  • Define and own the Finance investment for non-regulatory change, working closely with the Finance ExCo to prioritise budget allocation and maximise value.
  • Articulate the programme’s vision, structure, and scope in collaboration with stakeholders, including the development of the financial business case.
  • Establish and manage governance, controls, and adherence to agreed risk frameworks.
  • Drive benefit realisation, focusing on:
    • Reducing costs
    • Implementing automated controls
    • Simplifying processes
    • Accelerating automation
  • Serve as the single point of accountability for the Finance change portfolio (excluding Regulatory), mitigating risks and managing interdependencies.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with senior stakeholders across multiple areas to align decision-making with business objectives.
  • Present Board and ExCo updates based on significant Finance transformation experience.
  • Lead and empower teams through the programme lifecycle, managing a virtual team alongside your direct reports.
  • Mentor programme managers, providing coaching and acting as an escalation point.

To succeed in this role, you’ll require:

  • Extensive and proven experience in Finance transformation, with expertise in delivering tangible results across this domain.
  • Proven ability in managing and controlling budgets effectively.
  • Experience in delivering Finance strategic programmes that align with and support the broader business growth strategy.
  • Handling data and technology transformation at scale within an enterprise environment.
  • A track record of delivering measurable financial outcomes, demonstrating tangible impact from past projects.
  • Expertise in simplifying or transforming enterprise-wide operations within a regulated framework.
  • A deep understanding of operating models, technology landscapes, and end-to-end process design, particularly in reducing legacy complexities.

You’ll also need an ability to articulate the Finance strategy at the Board/ExCo level, ensuring clarity and alignment across the entire organisation.
