Description

Overview of the role

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Finance Director to play a pivotal leadership role within our growing fintech business. Reporting directly to the CFO, you will oversee financial reporting, regulatory compliance, financial controls and governance, while ensuring the finance function operates as a strategic partner to the wider business.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines technical accounting expertise with commercial insight. You'll be responsible for delivering accurate financial and regulatory reporting across multiple jurisdictions, maintaining a robust financial control framework, supporting capital planning, and ensuring the business remains compliant with FCA requirements.

You'll also lead and develop a high-performing finance team, driving continuous improvement through automation, enhanced processes and strong financial governance. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Product, Operations, Risk and Technology, helping shape the future of IFX Payments as we continue to scale.

This is an exciting opportunity for a finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced, regulated financial services environment and is looking to make a significant impact within an ambitious, high-growth organisation.

Key Responsibilities

Financial reporting and tax

  • Preparation of annual consolidated financial statements and individual companies.
  • Responsible for delivery of monthly finance packs for board and Exco meetings.
  • Ensure audit readiness across all jurisdictions. Liaising and managing external auditors.
  • Ensuring any findings are addressed and reported appropriately.
  • Implement process improvements, automation and simplification.
  • Develop and implement all finance policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the general ledger and any technical accounting judgements.
  • Implement and continuously strengthen the financial control framework—segregation of duties, reconciliations, delegated authorities and controls.
  • Own tax compliance (including corporation tax, VAT including partial exemption for payment/financial services, employment taxes) with specialist support as needed.

Regulatory and capital reporting

  • Own and deliver the firm's FCA regulatory reporting, including financial and own-funds returns, submitted accurately and on time via RegData.
  • Maintain a controlled regulatory-reporting calendar with clear preparation, review and submission controls, and reconcile all returns back to the general ledger.
  • Calculate and monitor own funds and the capital adequacy position against the ongoing requirement and the board-approved buffers, escalating early where growth may erode headroom.
  • Support forward capital planning with the CFO and Head of FP&A, and prepare capital and prudential MI for the Board and its committees.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
