About this Opportunity
L3Harris’ Global Systems Division, operating across the UK, Australia, Italy, and Canada, seeks a Finance Director to lead the senior finance function for this global unit. You will oversee a finance team—spanning Program Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and Pricing—and collaborate closely with Division, Sector, and corporate leadership.
This role demands expertise in financial planning, reporting, controls, process improvement, and cross-functional partnership building. The Finance Director will drive performance across Orders, Sales, Operating Income, and Free Cash Flow, ensuring alignment with business plans. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader, capable of thriving in a public company environment with tight deadlines while fostering collaboration and strategic problem-solving.

Responsibilities
As Finance Director, key responsibilities include:
- Strategic Leadership
- Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, advisory to overall business performance and strategic goals beyond finance.
- Lead and influence global finance leaders, ensuring consistency in governance, controls, and operational excellence across diverse regions.

Talent & Culture
- Build and sustain a robust talent pipeline through succession planning, coaching, and leadership development.
- Advance employee engagement and promote a global culture prioritising collaboration, inclusivity, and customer focus.

Financial Stewardship & Reporting
- Partner with business leaders to structure finance teams that support growth and operational agility.
- Oversee Orders, Sales, Operating Income, and Cash—produce financial reports, forecasts, and leadership briefings.
- Maintain EAC reports (Estimate At Completion) and ensure alignment with company policies and program descent/upward integration reporting.

Operational Excellence
- Develop, coordinate, and execute the annual operating plan (AOP) and 3-year joint strategic plan (JSP).
- Align division priorities with Sector and Corporate objectives, delivering insight and operational rigor.
- Monitor milestone invoices, cash flow, and program forecasts while addressing financial and strategic variances.
- Lead budgeting processes including overhead rate planning and process improvement initiatives that enhance forecasting accuracy, transfer pricing, and financial structure.

Compliance & Scalability
- Ensure international sites uphold all enterprise-wide finance and accounting regulatory policies.
- Guide the development of Program Finance teams across all entities, ensuring standardized processes.

Operations & Process Improvement
- Lead design and continuous improvement efforts across financial controls, reporting efficiency, and future visibility.
- Function as the procuring authority (as applicable) for finance services and resources.

What You’ll Bring
Essential Skills & Experience

Degree qualified (or qualified by equivalent work experience) with substantial, relevant leadership experience.

Strong background managing finance functions in complex, multi-site environments, including:
- Program Finance
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Accounting
- Pricing Strategies

Hands-on record of driving business performance across:
- Orders
- Sales
- Operating Profits/Income
- Free Cash Flow

Relentless focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Experience developing Annual Operating Plans (AOPs) and committing to multi-year strategic planning.

Proven ability to lead financial planning processes and align them with corporate strategy.

Successful track record of working within matrixed organizations, embedding finance expertise with non-finance stakeholders.
Preferred Extras
- Industry-specific knowledge of aerospace & defence or related regulated, complex environments, supporting government-financed programs.
- Exposure to Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) and relevant performance reporting.
- Experience with invoicing and billing processes tied to global contracts.
- Experience with finance transformation, standardization, and significant process enhancements across global teams.
