Finance Director

Finance Director – Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds

Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds is seeking a passionate Finance Director who shares our love for the arts and theatre to join our Management team.

The role entails working closely with the Artistic Director to realise our organisational ambitions and contribute to our strategic objectives. As Finance Director, you will provide expert financial leadership, ensuring the financial stability of Theatre Royal Bury St Edmunds.


Areas of Responsibility

  • Establish organisational models to build and maintain charitable reserves
  • Manage management accounting through monthly reporting
  • Devise and oversee the annual Budget, ensuring charitable activities are protected for the following year
  • Conduct monthly financial planning and reporting
  • Present financial reports and plans to the Board’s resources sub-committee
  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board on strategic decision-making
  • Create and implement business spending and funding policies
  • Set and manage departmental budgets
  • Monitor economic and market trends, assessing their impact on the organisation
  • Handle tax reporting obligations and ensure compliance with accounting standards
  • Attend all Board meetings, presenting quarterly finance reports
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably requested
