Finance Director

Airfinity is a world leading provider of predictive health analytics. Our proprietary platforms combines advanced modelling with realtime data from trusted sources to provide actionable insights for pharmaceutical companies, healthcare providers, governments, and investors. Purpose of the Role

The Finance Director is a key member of the senior management team and is responsible for leading the finance function and working closely with our COO & Co-Founder who this reports into. This role combines strategic oversight with hands on operational delivery, ensuring that financial systems, processes, and controls are robust, scalable, and aligned with business objectives.

As part of the scope of the role, the Finance Director may be invited to attend some Board meetings to present financial insights, contribute to strategic discussions, and support governance and investor engagement.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Align financial strategy with the overall business plan and organisational priorities
  • Support equity and debt fundraising, commercial modelling, and investor reporting
  • Provide financial input on pricing strategies, investment decisions, and commercial initiatives in collaboration with other departments

Operational Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the finance function, ensuring high standards of accuracy, control, and alignment with strategic priorities
  • Own and optimise cashflow management, forecasting, and scenario planning to support runway management and operational decision-making
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning activities
  • Produce timely, accurate, and actionable management reporting and board-level financial insights
  • Design and implement scalable financial processes, systems, and internal controls that support growth, compliance, and effective risk management
  • Develop and manage a lean, high-performing finance function, with a strong emphasis on automation, efficiency, and data integrity
  • Identify, implement, and integrate financial systems and technologies that improve automation and insight generation
  • Drive improvement in the quality and reliability of financial data, ensuring consistency across internal systems and outputs
  • Act as the primary contact for all accounting matters, coordinating with external bookkeepers, accountants, and auditors
  • Oversee management of payroll and ensure all related compliance obligations are met
  • Support legal, operational, and HR matters from a financial perspective
  • Assist with defining and embedding company-wide performance metrics and KPIs in collaboration with functional leaders and other team members.
  • Support cost control and procurement initiatives, identifying opportunities for greater efficiency and value

Governance & Compliance Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, manage statutory reporting, and maintain audit readiness
  • Maintain oversight of financial governance and risk, ensuring robust policies and frameworks are in place
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance, including corporation tax, VAT, and other relevant obligations
  • Manage banking relationships, oversee treasury and cash management activities, and ensure optimal use of financial resources

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a Finance Director, Head of Finance, or senior finance leader in a high-growth or VC/PE-backed business
  • Track record of strong cash management, financial modelling, and cost control
  • Demonstrated success in designing and embedding scalable systems, controls, and reporting frameworks
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to challenge, support, and influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience working in or with data, analytics, or similar with combined SaaS and Services and business models is highly desirable
  • Experience of M&A or exit processes is desirable
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and operating hands-on in a fast-moving environment
  • Experience with fund raising and exit processes would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, problem-solving mindset
