Founded in 1997, Ergomed Group is dedicated to the provision of specialised services to the pharmaceutical industry and the development of new drugs. With a global footprint covering 100+ countries, we deliver solutions for even the toughest clinical development and trial management challenges.
Ergomed has provided clinical development, trial management, and pharmacovigilance services for 300+ clients, from top 10 pharmaceutical and generics organisations to small and mid-sized drug development companies. The organisation is owned by Permira, a UK-based private equity group.
Job Description
The Finance Director will join a dynamic and experienced Group Reporting team responsible for managing external and internal reporting at Ergomed Group. The role involves overseeing key deliverables, including:
- Group’s Annual Financial Statements
- Audit Committee/Board reporting
- Monthly management accounts
- Budgeting and forecasting processes
- Financial reporting and analysis to support decision-making
- Technical accounting papers
The Finance Director will work closely with the Group Finance Director and Group Chief Financial Officer as part of a finance team of over 50 professionals based globally.

Group Reporting
- Oversee subsidiary month-end submissions in group reporting software
- Manage month-end consolidation adjustments and review/reconcile top-level consolidations
- Prepare group variance analysis and commentary for Executive management team & Permira reporting
- Develop expertise and champion group reporting through Prophix
- Oversee the preparation of UK GAAP compliant financial statements for UK subsidiaries
- Review and assist with preparation of Ergomed Group IFRS financial statements
Budget and Forecasting
- Consolidate group budget forecasts and assist with management/board presentation slides
- Prepare monthly departmental variance analysis against budgets/forecasts and coordinate with department heads
Treasury
- Support the Group Finance Director in optimising cash and deposit yields
- Manage foreign currency/interest risk hedging in line with Treasuries policy
- Oversee debt covenant compliance workings
- Assist with ongoing banking compliance (e.g., mandates, credit exposures, authority matrices)
General Responsibilities
- Support activities around pre- and post-acquisitions of companies
- Assist in cost-control activities across SG&A (Selling, General & Administrative)
- Review and prepare accounting technical papers as needed
- Draft Audit Committee and Board papers for executive consideration
- Lead ad hoc finance projects and contribute to team development
- Support the learning and development of the Group Reporting team

Qualifications
- ACA or ACCA qualified, with 7-10 years post-qualification experience (PQE)
- Top ten audit experience required
- Strong knowledge of IFRS statutory accounts and disclosures
- Industry consolidation and reporting experience
- Prophix and/or Sage X3 system experience is advantageous
