About our client
We are partnering with a leading venture capital investor to appoint a Finance Director to lead the management company finance function while supporting the wider platform on fund finance-related activities. The Finance Director will act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership, overseeing financial governance, capital management, and consolidated reporting across both fund and management company entities. The role will play a key part in driving financial discipline, operational efficiency, and scalable processes as the business continues to expand. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth investment platform at a pivotal stage in its evolution, offering significant exposure across both corporate and fund operations within a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
What the job involves
- Oversee all financial operations across the management company entities, including accounting, FP&A, treasury, and cash management activities
- Deliver accurate and timely financial, management, and investor reporting in accordance with relevant GAAP and regulatory standards
- Lead the audit and tax processes for corporate entities, acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors, tax advisors, and service providers
- Partner closely with the fund finance and third-party fund administrators to oversee fund accounting, reporting, and operational processes
- Support fund launches, structuring, and closings in collaboration with legal, compliance, and investment teams
- Provide commercial financial analysis and insights to support investment decision-making, business planning, and strategic initiatives
- Assist with fundraising activities by preparing financial projections, performance metrics, and investor due diligence materials
- Lead the development and implementation of scalable finance processes, controls, and best practices across the platform
- Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, and jurisdictional requirements
- Work closely with senior leadership, investment professionals, and operational teams to align financial strategy with broader business objectives

- Qualified accountant
- Strong technical accounting expertise, including consolidations and relevant accounting standards
- Commercially minded with experience supporting strategic initiatives and delivering solutions within a fast-paced environment
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical capabilities
- Experience of fund structures, partnership accounting, carried interest mechanisms, and investor reporting requirements
- Proven experience managing relationships
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively at both a detailed and high-level perspective
- Hands-on and detail-oriented, with an approach well suited to a dynamic and entrepreneurial asset management platform
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships across senior leadership and external partners
- High levels of integrity, discretion, and professionalism, alongside a commitment to operational excellence
