Finance Director - Residential Development

Finance Director Opportunity – UK Leading Housebuilder

Potensis Selection is excited to partner with one of the UK’s leading housebuilders, seeking a Finance Director to support and accelerate their growth plans.

The company boasts a robust pipeline of high-value projects and continues to acquire new development sites. Ideal candidates will take ownership of financial operations at a senior level, contributing to the executive team’s strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Growth

    • Work as a full member of the senior leadership team to deliver the business’s growth strategy.
    • Influence and support commercial decisions at a board and management level.
  • Financial Control & Risk Management

    • Implement and refine financial controls, enhancing performance while safeguarding against risk.
    • Own budgets and monthly forecasts, ensuring accuracy and effective management.

  • Operational & Budgetary Leadership

    • Oversee all financial aspects, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
    • Optimise resource utilisation through analytics and process improvements.
  • Land Acquisition & Tax Compliance

    • Review and challenge land acquisition proposals, assessing financial viability and opportunities.
    • Full responsibility for tax compliance (VAT, CIS, corporation tax) within the region.
    • Lead cash management, providing weekly inflows/outflows reports and risk monitoring.
  • Reporting & Board Engagement

    • Present financial insights at Board meetings to drive strategic decision-making.
    • Ensure alignment between team performance and business financial targets, providing tailored solutions.
