Director with Experience in Finances and Financial Strategy
We're seeking a new director with experience in finances and financial strategy to contribute to the achievement of the Community Interest Company's (CIC) business objectives by providing advice and guidance to the Board.
This role ensures robust financial health.
What difference will you make?
As a Board member with financial skills, you will be able to ensure the financial sustainability and growth of the organisation as well as actioning financial administration and grant management tasks. This is fundamental to ensuring that we achieve our mission, namely to ensure that autistic survivors of sexual violence and related abuse are believed and supported throughout their recovery journey.
This year, we are aiming to extend our work through increased production across all our funding streams: collaborative projects, training, and webinars. Your role will be pivotal in this as your financial advice and guidance to the Board will inform decision-making in these areas.
You will work with the Board to prepare the organisation’s financial accounts, presenting these in a timely manner to HMRC, and developing and controlling the CIC’s annual operating budget. You will also work with the Board to ensure compliance with financial procedures and regulations.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What will you be doing?
As a Board member, you will have an essential role in contributing to the future direction of supporting autistic survivors of sexual violence and making a real difference to their wellbeing.
We are now achieving increased success with our fundraising and have been able to begin two of our projects. In addition, we have achieved greater uptake of our training across the sector both within and outside of the region. Nevertheless, we are experiencing uneven income through our funding streams due to marketing challenges.
For this reason, we are looking for Board members with experience working with CIC’s who are at an early stage of development (year 3). If you enjoy working with a friendly team who are confident at progressing this essential area of work, and possess the skills we are looking for, then do contact us.
In order to ensure diversity within the organisation, whilst all candidates with the required skills will be considered, under the protected characteristics of the Equality Act 2010, preference will be given to applicants who are autistic, and who may also have (an)other protected characteristic.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
