Finance & IT Director — Confidential Group Appointment
Location: South East England (dual-site, Essex & Hertfordshire) | Reports to: Group CEO | Full-time, permanent
FD Capital is retained by a well-established, acquisitive multi-brand services group to appoint a Finance & IT Director. Our client is a household name in its sector, operating several trading entities across the UK and internationally.
This is a rare, board-facing opportunity to take full ownership of the Group's consolidated finances while also leading its IT function. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, you'll sit at the heart of the business with genuine scope to shape both functions as the Group continues to grow organically and by acquisition.
The Role
Group Finance
- Own preparation and delivery of consolidated statutory accounts across all Group entities
- Lead month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, reporting to the Group CEO and Board
- Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisers and banking partners
- Oversee statutory compliance, tax filings and regulatory reporting Group-wide
- Produce management accounts, budgets, forecasts and variance analysis
- Support M&A activity, due diligence and post-acquisition integration
- Manage cash flow, working capital and Group treasury
- Build, lead and develop the Group finance team across multiple entities

IT Leadership
- Overall responsibility for Group IT strategy, infrastructure and systems (ERP, CRM and operational platforms)
- Manage IT budgets, vendors and third-party providers
- Oversee data security, business continuity and disaster recovery
- Lead technology transformation and system consolidation following acquisitions
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 8+ years' post-qualification experience
- Trained with a Big Four or recognised top-tier accountancy firm (essential)
- Demonstrable experience preparing and consolidating group accounts across multiple entities
- Strong working knowledge of UK statutory and tax reporting
- Proven leadership experience building and managing a finance function
- Comfortable holding broad responsibility, including IT oversight alongside finance
- A confident communicator, able to advise and report directly to the Group CEO
