Our client is looking to hire a Senior Financial Controller / Finance Lead for an exciting opportunity to build out their Finance function here in London. The ideal candidate must come from an Investment Management background, preference will be given to those who have exposure working with charities, but not essential.
This is a rare opportunity to build and lead a finance function from The role offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the chance to shape financial strategy and processes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Own finance strategy, controls, and operating model.
- Partner with senior leadership on planning, performance, and decision-making.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting.

Financial Control & Reporting
- Manage month-end, ledgers, and financial reporting.
- Oversee reconciliations, journals, and technical accounting matters.
- Deliver statutory accounts (Charity SORP) and group reporting.
- Manage intercompany accounting and treasury oversight.
Audit, Risk & Compliance
- Lead audit and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure compliance with charity, tax, and company regulations.
- Maintain strong financial controls and governance frameworks.
Process & Systems
- Implement scalable systems and improve finance processes.
- Enhance controls, efficiency, and reporting capability.
Leadership
- Build and lead a small finance function.
- Partner cross-functionally and promote financial discipline.

Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- 8-12 years' progressive experience across accounting, finance, or audit roles.
- Proven track record in financial control and strategic finance leadership.
- Experience building finance functions, systems, and controls from the ground up.
- Strong hands-on experience across accounting, reconciliations, audit, and statutory reporting.
- Exposure to investment accounting, fund administration, or cross-border environments is advantageous.
- Familiarity with UK Charity SORP, charity law, and international reporting frameworks is preferred.
