Monthly Management Accounts

Roles and responsibilities within this role:

  • Overseeing the month end close, working with other areas of finance to close ledgers to the agreed timescale
  • Overseeing and supporting with the preparation of monthly management accounts to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Ensuring all recurring journals are booked by the relevant team members
  • Overseeing the pre-close reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts, reviewing for accuracy and ensure there are no material adjustments required at year end.
  • Ensuring postings are accurate and reflect the coding and dimensions required

Business Partnering

  • Championing best practice and encourage high standards of work and service to the business to match Ridge core values
  • Ensuring agreed policies and processes are adhered to and proactively developed to meet the needs of the business as it transitions through growth.
  • Providing support and guidance to the business including induction training when required
  • Supporting with the FP&A Team providing commercial challenge to the business to maximise revenue and minimise costs

Systems Development

  • Timely closure of the month and year end ledgers
  • Liaising with IT to maintain the configuration of the D365 accounting system
  • Overseeing the testing process for routine system updates

Staff Management

  • Leading the team providing direction, support and mentoring.
  • Ensuring annual reviews are performed along with ongoing with mid-year progress reviews
  • Monitoring workloads and re-directing resource throughout the month to ensure all tasks are completed.
  • Assessing staffing requirements to ensure the team are appropriately staffed to cope with growth

  • A qualified accountant with 2 years+ post qualification experience
  • Either a first move from practice or from industry with a similar scale of business. Knowledge of finance systems and management accounts preparation is helpful.
  • A positive and strong ‘can do’ attitude
  • The ability to bring fresh ideas
  • Great communications skills, both verbally and written
  • Attention to detail
  • Team player and keen to be visible to the team and wider finance function

The essential skills and experience required for this role are as follows:

  • Experience of managing staff, working within a multi-sited and growing business.
  • Can demonstrate a proactive approach to team and process development.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics F&O preferable or experience of similar ERP systems
  • A strong working knowledge of Excel
