Finance Manager
In Focus is looking for a Finance Manager to help shape and lead our finance function within a small, creative and mission-driven charity.
This is a flexible, part-time (8 hours per week) hybrid role, offering £20.75 per hour. Hours can be worked Tuesday to Thursday, with some attendance at our Southampton office—including a monthly whole-team meeting.
You will support strong financial systems, clear reporting, and long-term sustainability, ensuring our work continues smoothly across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
Key Responsibilities
You will oversee day-to-day finance operations, including:
- Bookkeeping, payments, invoices, and payroll coordination
- Debtor management, bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
- Budgeting, forecasting, management accounts and Board reporting
- Year-end audit preparation, restricted funds and grant reporting
- Compliance with Charity Commission and financial controls

A key part of the role involves leading finance within a growing charity, working closely with the CEO, Board of Trustees, and wider team to ensure:
- Clear financial insight for strategic decision-making
- Effective resource allocation
- Strengthening financial systems
Essential Experience & Skills
We seek a candidate with:
- Finance experience (including bookkeeping, reporting, budgeting, and compliance)
- Strong finance qualifications or equivalent experience
- Charity finance knowledge, including restricted and unrestricted funds
- Self-starters able to help build the finance function
- Excellent analytical and attention-to-detail skills
- Clear communication (confident in explaining financial matters to non-finance teams)

Desirable Experience
Experience with:
- Small charities or creative organisations
- Audit preparation and trustee engagements
- Charity SORP (Statement of Recommended Practice)
- Supporting fundraising teams in budgeting and financial reporting
